20:1 postquam autem cessavit tumultus 1. And after the uproar was ceased,
vocatis Paulus discipulis et exhortatus Paul called unto him the disciples, and
eos valedixit et profectus est ut iret embraced them, and departed for to go
in Macedoniam into Macedonia.

20:3 ubi cum fecisset menses tres 3. And there abode three months. And
factae sunt illi insidiae a Iudaeis when the Jews laid wait for him, as he

20:4 comitatus est autem eum Sopater 4. And there accompanied him into Asia

20:5 hii cum praecessissent 5. These going before tarried for us
sustinebant nos Troade at Troas.

20:6 nos vero navigavimus post dies 6. And we sailed away from Philippi

in mediam noctem continued his speech until midnight.

20:8 erant autem lampades copiosae in 8. And there were many lights in the
cenaculo ubi eramus congregati upper chamber, where they were gathered
                                             together.

20:12 adduxerunt autem puerum viventem 12. And they brought the young man
et consolati sunt non minime alive, and were not a little comforted.

20:13 nos autem ascendentes navem 13. And we went before to ship, and

                                             seasons,

20:19 serviens Domino cum omni 19. Serving the LORD with all humility
humilitate et lacrimis et of mind, and with many tears, and
temptationibus quae mihi acciderunt ex temptations, which befell me by the
insidiis Iudaeorum lying in wait of the Jews:

20:20 quomodo nihil subtraxerim 20. And how I kept back nothing that
utilium quo minus adnuntiarem vobis et was profitable unto you, but have
docerem vos publice et per domos shewed you, and have taught you
publickly, and from house to house,

20:21 testificans Iudaeis atque 21. Testifying both to the Jews, and
gentilibus in Deum paenitentiam et also to the Greeks, repentance toward
fidem in Dominum nostrum Iesum Christum God, and faith toward our Lord Jesus
                                             Christ.

20:22 et nunc ecce alligatus ego 22. And now, behold, I go bound in the

eventura sint mihi ignorans things that shall befall me there:

20:23 nisi quod Spiritus Sanctus per 23. Save that the Holy Ghost
omnes civitates protestatur mihi dicens witnesseth in every city, saying that

20:24 sed nihil horum vereor nec facio 24. But none of these things move me,
animam pretiosiorem quam me dummodo neither count I my life dear unto
consummem cursum meum et ministerium myself, so that I might finish my
quod accepi a Domino Iesu testificari course with joy, and the ministry,
evangelium gratiae Dei which I have received of the Lord
Jesus, to testify the gospel of the
                                             grace of God.

20:25 et nunc ecce ego scio quia 25. And now, behold, I know that ye
amplius non videbitis faciem meam vos all, among whom I have gone preaching
omnes per quos transivi praedicans the kingdom of God, shall see my face
regnum Dei no more.

20:26 quapropter contestor vos 26. Wherefore I take you to record
hodierna die quia mundus sum a sanguine this day, that I am pure from the blood
omnium of all men.

20:27 non enim subterfugi quo minus 27. For I have not shunned to declare
adnuntiarem omne consilium Dei vobis unto you all the counsel of God.

20:28 adtendite vobis et universo 28. Take heed therefore unto
gregi in quo vos Spiritus Sanctus yourselves, and to all the flock, over
posuit episcopos regere ecclesiam Dei the which the Holy Ghost hath made you
quam adquisivit sanguine suo overseers, to feed the church of God,
which he hath purchased with his own
                                             blood.

20:29 ego scio quoniam intrabunt post 29. For I know this, that after my
discessionem meam lupi graves in vos departing shall grievous wolves enter
non parcentes gregi in among you, not sparing the flock.

20:30 et ex vobis ipsis exsurgent viri 30. Also of your own selves shall men
loquentes perversa ut abducant arise, speaking perverse things, to
discipulos post se draw away disciples after them.

20:31 propter quod vigilate memoria 31. Therefore watch, and remember,
retinentes quoniam per triennium nocte that by the space of three years I
et die non cessavi cum lacrimis monens ceased not to warn every one night and
unumquemque vestrum day with tears.

20:32 et nunc commendo vos Deo et 32. And now, brethren, I commend you
verbo gratiae ipsius qui potens est to God, and to the word of his grace,
aedificare et dare hereditatem in which is able to build you up, and to
sanctificatis omnibus give you an inheritance among all them
                                             which are sanctified.

20:33 argentum aut aurum aut vestem 33. I have coveted no man's silver, or
nullius concupivi gold, or apparel.

20:34 ipsi scitis quoniam ad ea quae 34. Yea, ye yourselves know, that

                                             me.

20:35 omnia ostendi vobis quoniam sic 35. I have shewed you all things, how
laborantes oportet suscipere infirmos that so labouring ye ought to support
ac meminisse verbi Domini Iesu quoniam the weak, and to remember the words of

accipere blessed to give than to receive.

20:36 et cum haec dixisset positis 36. And when he had thus spoken, he
genibus suis cum omnibus illis oravit kneeled down, and prayed with them all.

20:37 magnus autem fletus factus est 37. And they all wept sore, and fell
omnium et procumbentes super collum on Paul's neck, and kissed him,
Pauli osculabantur eum
