3:1  Petrus autem et Iohannes                1.  Now Peter and John went up together
ascendebant in templum ad horam              into the temple at the hour of prayer,
orationis nonam                              being the ninth hour.

3:2  et quidam vir qui erat claudus ex       2.  And a certain man lame from his
utero matris suae baiulabatur quem           mother's womb was carried, whom they
ponebant cotidie ad portam templi quae       laid daily at the gate of the temple
dicitur Speciosa ut peteret elemosynam       which is called Beautiful, to ask alms
ab introeuntibus in templum                  of them that entered into the temple;

3:3  is cum vidisset Petrum et Iohannem      3.  Who seeing Peter and John about to
incipientes introire in templum rogabat      go into the temple asked an alms.
ut elemosynam acciperet

3:4  intuens autem in eum Petrus cum         4.  And Peter, fastening his eyes upon
Iohanne dixit respice in nos                 him with John, said, Look on us.

3:5  at ille intendebat in eos sperans       5.  And he gave heed unto them,
se aliquid accepturum ab eis                 expecting to receive something of them.

3:6  Petrus autem dixit argentum et          6.  Then Peter said, Silver and gold
aurum non est mihi quod autem habeo hoc      have I none; but such as I have give I
tibi do in nomine Iesu Christi Nazareni      thee: In the name of Jesus Christ of
surge et ambula                              Nazareth rise up and walk.

3:7  et adprehensa ei manu dextera           7.  And he took him by the right hand,
adlevavit eum et protinus consolidatae       and lifted him up: and immediately his
sunt bases eius et plantae                   feet and ankle bones received strength.

3:8  et exiliens stetit et ambulabat et      8.  And he leaping up stood, and
intravit cum illis in templum ambulans       walked, and entered with them into the

3:9  et vidit omnis populus eum              9.  And all the people saw him walking
ambulantem et laudantem Deum                 and praising God:

3:10  cognoscebant autem illum quoniam       10.  And they knew that it was he which
ipse erat qui ad elemosynam sedebat ad       sat for alms at the Beautiful gate of
Speciosam portam templi et impleti sunt      the temple: and they were filled with
stupore et extasi in eo quod contigerat      wonder and amazement at that which had
illi                                         happened unto him.

3:11  cum teneret autem Petrum et            11.  And as the lame man which was
Iohannem concurrit omnis populus ad eos      healed held Peter and John, all the

                                             wondering.

3:12  videns autem Petrus respondit ad       12.  And when Peter saw it, he answered
populum viri israhelitae quid miramini       unto the people, Ye men of Israel, why
in hoc aut nos quid intuemini quasi          marvel ye at this? or why look ye so
nostra virtute aut pietate fecerimus         earnestly on us, as though by our own
hunc ambulare                                power or holiness we had made this man
                                             to walk?

3:13  Deus Abraham et Deus Isaac et          13.  The God of Abraham, and of Isaac,
Deus Iacob Deus patrum nostrorum             and of Jacob, the God of our fathers,
glorificavit Filium suum Iesum quem vos      hath glorified his Son Jesus; whom ye
quidem tradidistis et negastis ante          delivered up, and denied him in the
faciem Pilati iudicante illo dimitti         presence of Pilate, when he was
                                             determined to let him go.

3:14  vos autem sanctum et iustum            14.  But ye denied the Holy One and the
negastis et petistis virum homicidam         Just, and desired a murderer to be
donari vobis                                 granted unto you;

3:15  auctorem vero vitae interfecistis      15.  And killed the Prince of life,
quem Deus suscitavit a mortuis cuius         whom God hath raised from the dead;
nos testes sumus                             whereof we are witnesses.

3:16  et in fide nominis eius hunc quem      16.  And his name through faith in his
videtis et nostis confirmavit nomen          name hath made this man strong, whom ye
eius et fides quae per eum est dedit         see and know: yea, the faith which is
integram sanitatem istam in conspectu        by him hath given him this perfect
omnium vestrum                               soundness in the presence of you all.

3:17  et nunc fratres scio quia per          17.  And now, brethren, I wot that
ignorantiam fecistis sicut et principes      through ignorance ye did it, as did
vestri                                       also your rulers.

3:18  Deus autem quae praenuntiavit per      18.  But those things, which God before
os omnium prophetarum pati Christum          had shewed by the mouth of all his

                                             hath so fulfilled.

3:19  paenitemini igitur et                  19.  Repent ye therefore, and be
convertimini ut deleantur vestra peccata     converted, that your sins may be
                                             blotted out, when the times of
                                             refreshing shall come from the presence
                                             of the Lord.

3:20  ut cum venerint tempora                20.  And he shall send Jesus Christ,
refrigerii a conspectu Domini et             which before was preached unto you:
miserit eum qui praedicatus est vobis
Iesum Christum

3:21  quem oportet caelum quidem             21.  Whom the heaven must receive until
suscipere usque in tempora                   the times of restitution of all things,
restitutionis omnium quae locutus est        which God hath spoken by the mouth of
Deus per os sanctorum suorum a saeculo       all his holy prophets since the world
prophetarum                                  began.

3:22  Moses quidem dixit quia prophetam      22.  For Moses truly said unto the
vobis suscitabit Dominus Deus vester de      fathers, A prophet shall the Lord your
fratribus vestris tamquam me ipsum           God raise up unto you of your brethren,
audietis iuxta omnia quaecumque locutus      like unto me; him shall ye hear in all
fuerit vobis                                 things whatsoever he shall say unto you.

3:23  erit autem omnis anima quae non        23.  And it shall come to pass, that
audierit prophetam illum exterminabitur      every soul, which will not hear that
de plebe                                     prophet, shall be destroyed from among
                                             the people.

3:24  et omnes prophetae a Samuhel et        24.  Yea, and all the prophets from
deinceps qui locuti sunt et                  Samuel and those that follow after, as

3:25  vos estis filii prophetarum et         25.  Ye are the children of the
testamenti quod disposuit Deus ad            prophets, and of the covenant which God

semine tuo benedicentur omnes familiae       Abraham, And in thy seed shall all the
terrae                                       kindreds of the earth be blessed.

3:26  vobis primum Deus suscitans            26.  Unto you first God, having raised
Filium suum misit eum benedicentem           up his Son Jesus, sent him to bless
vobis ut convertat se unusquisque a          you, in turning away every one of you
nequitia sua                                 from his iniquities.
